Reaching out into our communities is vital to our organization, developing relationships with community leaders, media, school faculty and local civic groups can greatly assist each post in achieving the VFW mission.

Here at VFW Post 1055 we've helped the Ravenna K9 unit by donating $3,000 to their program in an effort to enhance their training and education program for the community. We've assisted all 19 Portage County fire departments with a generous donation of $1,000 to each  individual fire department so that they may attain the equipment or other items they need that their general funds can't go towards.

We have been a big supporter of Ravenna Parks and Rec by sponsoring sports teams through out the year. The Post whole-heartily supports Grave Markers foundation, where they help Veterans families receive grave markers for their deceased veteran that other wise would have gone unmark and unrecognized as a veterans grave.
